Dumpsters, Muffins, Waste, Laws
Composed by Sebastian Abrahamsson and Katja de Vries
Sebastian Abrahamsson and Katja de Vries compiled their research and formed their article "Dumpsters, Muffins, Waste and Law". In this article specific laws pertaining to specific countries are portrayed along with believe that “Dumpster Diving” should be illegal. The authors illustrate the issue of food waste being greater than simply knowing who legally owns the discarded food but also ask should this food be allowed to be eaten by those who would willingly eat it? The author also states an unstated idea that society is increasingly absorbed in only "Dumpster Diving", laws; but should instead be focused on the larger picture of food waste. The authors clearly point out the juxtaposed position of wanting to reduce food waste while addressing the societal issue of not allowing individuals to eat food that has been thrown away.
